You wouldn't think a city called "Sandusky, Ohio" would be home to one of the best thrill parks, but it certainly is. Their latest creation is usually a superlative in one of many factors (innovation, height, speed, design, propulsion technology, etc.) until somebody else raises it a notch.
Ever since I heard of this place I've wanted to take a trip. One of our pilot friends offered to fly us up and back in the same day in his 4 passenger (+2 pilots) twin turbo-prop plane, and we jumped at the chance.
Top Thrill Dragster is one of those rides you'll never forget. I've ridden hundreds of coasters. I expected a lot, but I was nowhere prepared what it delivered. Absolutely mind blowing. It felt like I was in the Spies Like Us centrifuge scene.

The first ride we went on (Top Thrill Dragster) broke twice while we were in line. Another one broke on the way past Mantis. Here's riders disembarking Mantis when they were struck on the first-hill climb.
