Bonnaroo (2008)
Bonnaroo - The mother of all music fests. Woodstock for the new millenium. Over 100,000 people camping out in a 700 acre field in Manchester, TN for three days in complete anarchy.
We cheated serious injury (and death) for another year.
We also reunited Camp Rubber Chicken (we met with our neighbors from last year's trip).

It may take a while to load up, so be patient. Try doing a "play tour" on any of the paths and you can watch from our point of view.
I got lost for over 8 hours on the first night of Bonnaroo 2006 (couldn't find my campsite in the middle of a cold rainy night). Never mind the fact that I was a three-year veteran. I also got lost for a few ours the year prior. I vowed never to let this happen again. That's all I would need for inspiration to buy a GPS. I then figured out a way to automatically stamp any photos that I take with my digital camera with the location I took the photo. That's all I needed to make it a no-brainer. I didn't even come close to getting lost since (even finding my way in the pitch black crowd after to exactly where we were sitting for shows after a bathroom break). I also turned it on for the entire weekend (whenever I could remember). Our location on earth (within 6 feet of accuracy) was stamped every single second. The tracklog shows that we walked over 12 miles in those few days (again, whenever I remembered to turn it on.)
What a long strange trip it was.
I have posted all of the GPS data (waypoints, tracklog, photo geocoding, etc.) collected over the weekend here:
